Matt is an upcoming country artist born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. His interest in music started as a child singing in church on Sunday morning. Matt cut his teeth on country music as well as Southern Gospel Music. He first realized his dream for being an artist at the young age of five. His parents bought him his first guitar when Matt was ten years old. In just a few short years he had taught himself how to play the guitar, piano, bass and drums. Then in high school he joined the band and excelled at playing the trumpet. There was always music coming from Matt's bedroom.
After graduating from high shool, on Friday and Saturday night Matt could be found jamming with some of the best local country bands on the gulf coast but on Sunday morning you'd find him playing and singing at his local church. Matt often battled with the opinion of some cast upon him for singing christian and secular music but continued to play with several local christian and country bands throughout his 20's.
In 2001 Matt joined The Bibletones Quartet, a nationally known Southern Gospel Quartet with chart topping success. He learned a lot about life on the road and performing in larger venues over the next 5 years. During this period Matt recorded two solo christian/country projects. The first, "Brand New Me" was recorded in 2001. The second, "Just Stand" was recorded in 2005 and was nominated for Song of the Year, Album of the year and Male Vocalist of the year in 2006 by the ECSGMA. In 2006 Matt left the Bibletones to pursue a christian/country solo career. In 2009 Matt joined country group Autumn Rise-N and shared the stage with many country music legends. From humble beginnings in coast night clubs to sold out concert halls, sharing the stage with country music icons as well as gospel music legends, Matt has been moulded into the inspirational country artist you hear today.
